Conference logistics

  • Welcome Reception will take place by the swimming pool on the first floor

    Registration on Sunday and Monday will be outside the Salon Europa. Rest of the week please register at the Altet room.

    All talks will take place at the Salon Europa, on the ground floor

    Posters will be placed at the Hall of the Salon Europa. You can set up your poster on Monday. Please remove them by Thursday afternoon.

    Coffee breaks will be at La Plaza on the first floor

    Lunch Monday to Thursday at the Salon Postiguet, on the first floor.

    Technical secretary will be at the Atlet room.

    The Conference Banquet will take place at the VOLVO OCEAN RACE CLUB, a short walk from the Meliá Alicante Hotel (~ 400m). Please let us know if you have some special dietary needs.

    Getting to the Venue from the Alicante Airport

     

    The Alicante airport is about 11km from the Meliá Alicante Hotel.

    By Taxi: The easiest way to reach the venue is by Taxi. A taxi ride should cost around 25€.

    By bus:

    there is a bus from the airport to the city of Alicante every 20 minutes. Take bus line Route C-6. One way ticket is around 4€. The last stop is right next to the Meliá Alicante hotel (Plaza Puerta del Mar I). More info at

    Getting to the Venue from the main train station

     

     

    The main train station in Alicante is only 2 km from the Meliá Alicante Hotel.

    By Taxi: The easiest way to reach the venue is by Taxi.

    By bus:

    there is a bus from the train station to the Plaza Puerta del Mar, next to the Meliá Alicante Hotel every 20 minutes. Take bus line 21 at Maisonnave 47 A (next to Corte Inglés). One way ticket is around 1.50€ (try to have change with you). More info at

    The City of Alicante (Alacant)

     

    Alicante (Alacant) is a major tourist destination for many people in Europe. It is located in the Mediterranean coast, 432 km from Madrid and 544 km from Barcelona

    Alicante has more than 3000 years of history with settlements dating back to the Iberians. Roman, arabs, castillians and many others have shaped this city known for its sandy beaches and gastronomy. One of the emblematic sites is the Santa Barbara Castle, looking over the Postiguet beach.

    The conference will take place at the Hotel Melia Alicante

    Meliá Alicante is one of the best hotels in the city of Alicante. It is located next to the Postiguet Beach and the Alicante port, near the Paseo de la Explanada de España, the city centre and the Santa Bárbara Castle.

    Alicante has an international airport with direct connections to most major cities in Europe.
